PArCo - Pordenone Arte Contemporanea

PArCo is home to the new Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Pordenone (Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art of Pordenone), a museum dedicated to the memory of Armando Pizzinato (Maniago 1910 - Venezia 2004) one of the most important Italian artists of the post Second World War period.

The exhibition area, implemented by the Municipality of Pordenone, is part of Parco Galvani, a major city park, near the historic city centre.

The structure consists of a renovated Venetian villa, built on three floors in a classic architectural design and a new extension that includes the main entrance, new exhibition rooms, a convention centre and other areas for the museum facilities.
Two adjacent and communicating parts cover an overall area of approximately 1,800 square metres, 1,200 square metres of which being the exhibition area.

The gallery, just due to the inherent potential of space, is able to host articular and multidisciplinary exhibitions.  More particularly, the new extension has added four large rooms that can host large-scale works of art.

An agora terrace completes the structure, creating a natural continuation of the internal exhibition area, designed to house large-scale sculptures and to host outdoor events.  The Gallery faces the spring water lake with a rose-garden on the shores that continue up to the entrance of the Gallery in the new workshop area.
