"La Betulla” Polyphonic Choir

The "La Betulla" choir was formed at the beginning of 1978 on the initiative of Don Antonio Cinto, then parish priest of Marsure. Currently it has around forty members.

It has undertaken, between concerts and festivals, two hundred performances; it has sung in various locations in Italy and in particular in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Veneto and the Trentino. There have been very numerous liturgical performances among which stands out the Mass sung in December 1980 in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome where the choir had the honour of being presented to Pope John Paul II.

The choir has also organised festivals like the Provincial "Tutticori 1980" and every year hosts various choirs on the occasion of the Christmas concert. In 1983 the choir participated with a reasonable outcome in the Concerto Nazionale di Adria.

The repertoire, quite eclectic, ranged through prized pieces of Renaissance polyphony to traditional local songs. A specimen of this repertoire has been included on a "Long Playing" disc that the choir had cut in 1983. More (The link you are accessing might not be in English.)
