Savoy cabbage and rice soup

Ingredients for 4 people:

lard
onion
some Savoy cabbage leaves (5/6)
vegetable broth
rice
Cheese for grating

Make a pat of lard and add 1/2 an onion, lightly fry slowly and add vegetable broth and a handful of rice per person.  Flavour with salt and at the end a light dusting of pepper and grated cheese.
