Typical local menus
An initiative developed in several stages that has seen around the same table the main social and economic personalities from the area of the Province: from the Province and Municipality of Pordenone, Ascom-Confcommercio, Camera di Commercio, BCC Pordenonese, Centro Turistico Alberghiero IAL of Aviano, Biblioteca dell’Immagine and Messaggero Veneto. The latter, leader in developing the project, has involved its readers for two months through the publication of a coupon containing a description of the candidate recipes for the typical local menus of the Province.
In parallel, the project was successfully promoted by the Spilimbergo Association for Interactive Communication to schools, local tourist boards, libraries and cultural organisations in the Province to obtain a catalogue of already “listed” recipes.
In total over one thousand one hundred of them were collected, of which around one hundred and forty were from the coupon published by the Messaggero Veneto.
During the exercise, a first selection of forty local recipes was identified: starters, first courses, main courses and desserts.
Subsequently, in the IAL Hoteliers School in Aviano, they were presented at a buffet at which the best three of each course were chosen by a special jury of experts.
Finally from the May event these are the choices for the best dishes in each class that have been proclaimed a “Typical Pordenone Menu”.
