The unique beauty of this area can be explored by visiting the Regional Park of the Friulian Dolomites, which is part of the western sector of the mountain range that dominate the Friulian highlands, enclosed with the watercourses of the Tagliamento and Piave rivers.
The Regional Park of the Friulian Dolomites also boasts a further recognition: the ISO 14001:2004 certification, obtained on 17th June last year. This important result demonstrates the passion and methodical with which all the Park staff working to enhance the particular features of this territory that stretches from the Province of Pordenone to the Province of Udine and embraces Valcellina, the Upper Valle of the Tagliamento river and the areas converging towards Val Tramontina.
The Regional Park of the Friulian Dolomites includes the Municipalities of Andreis, Cimolais, Claut, Erto and Casso, Forni di Sopra, Forni di Sotto, Frisanco and Tramonti di Sopra.
In the Regional Park of the Friulian Dolomites, of which Cimolais is the seat and the centre that stretches into the other municipalities of the Province, the degree of “wilderness” is high. In fact, it is possible to admire the mountain peaks and crags from within the extensive valleys that are free from main roads and built-up areas. More
