Borgo Poffabro
The charm of stone and wood. The name Prafabrorum, "meadow of the blacksmith”, is mentioned in an arbitration in 1339. A notarial document of 1357 reports on tithe of Pratum Fabri that the Lord of Maniago bequeathed to his son.
The "magic power" lies in the hypnotising effect of the sharp cut stones and wooden balconies, candid and austere architectural features that also give a sense of intimacy and contemplation in the enclosed courtyards, which can be accessed through a narrow arch, or in the long rows of houses of the sixteenth-seventeenth century layout. It is one of the most beautiful hamlets in Italy.
